This week my best childhood friend Whitney was in town from Kentucky. I haven't seen her in over a year, so we made a date out of it. All of us got together and went for dinner at California pizza kitchen. Seriously guys, I think I'm the only one who doesn't get pizza when we go there. They have this garlic cream fettuccine that is to die for. So delicious. Anyway, we laughed and talked, we ate. We shopped around the mall for a little while, then decided it was time for cheesecake. California Pizza skimped out on the bread when we asked for it, so we decided we needed the "chocolate bread" from Cheesecake factory. Basically we ate so much bread, the cheesecake was put on the back burner. Bummer. Whit also creeped on this blogger she loves "house of smiths." I apparently don't Pinterest enough to know who she is. I then attempted to shove whipped cream in her mouth, and speared her in the face. We were all peeing from laughter as blood dripped down Whitney's face.It was a really fun night, and I'm sad we don't all get together more. Why can't things stay the same way in life as they were in high school? Life was so much easier back then.

^^ Car selfies are always the best ^^

^^ Me, Amber, Lauren, Kenzie, Whitney ^^

^^ Fun at Victoria's Secret ^^

^^ House of Smiths ^^

^^ You can't see it very well because of the lighting, but the battle wound ^^

We also "tried" (keyword here being tried) to go to the lake last week. It's been rainstorm after rainstorm here in SLC for the past 2 weeks. Don't get me wrong, we need the water, but it really puts a damper on all of our summer activities that we are trying to do. I lasted about 10 minutes with sand blowing in my eyes, and the ominous clouds that looked full of lightning potential before I said I was done. We ended up at El Pollo Loco for some little tacos which was probably the reason my night wasn't a total ruin.

^^ Clouds coming in ^^

^^ Nothing better than a wet dog ^^

^^ Tacos al carbon aka Little tacos ^^

Have you guys ever been to JCW's? Seriously....cheese fries. I dream about how good they are. I made a little date night out of it, and we shoved our faces with the best burgers and cheese fries in town. It took all I had not to order a shake afterward. Although, it is a breeding group for every kid in Utah country I swear. It's always packed.

^^ Hungry and done with me taking pictures ^^

^^ Cheese fries....I died ^^

Lastly, we went on a run right after my JCW run. Amber pulled me out that night for a long run that ended up around 7 miles. Guys, seriously...the next day I slept for like 13 hours. It was really fun though, and I'm seriously grateful for someone to run with and kick my butt into gear. We were running this trail that we thought we would just turn around when we reached mile 3 or 4 and head back to our car. By the time we reached mile 4 it was SO dark. We started freaking ourselves out by telling each other what we would do if someone tried to abduct us. By the time we started sprinting out of fear, we decided to head to the road and finish up there. It sounds like a disaster, but it was a lot of fun. Except the part where I will state again...Seriously couldn't walk the next day.

^^ The start ^^

^^ On our trail ^^

Today i'm doing a link-up with Miki at here about naughty dogs. She has two little englilsh bulldogs (well one is half english half french) that are always up to something naughty. She always has the funniest stories about them. Anyway, I happen to also have one very naughty dog. Our little Rex is 3/4 border collie and 1/4 pitt bull. He's one year old and the sweetest little thing, but for some reason has a hard time leaving the neighbor kids alone. We were outside playing one day, running, jumping, chasing balls, when a little neighbor kid comes skipping by. I see my little t-rex's ears perk up, and his eyes lock on this poor little neighbor kid. Now, Rex is usually a pretty good listener...except when he is chasing something. We only let him chase his ball, so this kid was a real treat. Rex starts running full speed towards this kid. He's not barking, growling, or in any way acting aggressive, he's just running. The kids takes one look at this huge dog coming after him and starts to run. Worst. idea. ever. Rex is now locked in the chase. I'm now screaming at the kid and chasing them both down the sidewalk "Don't run! Stop running and hold still!" The kid is looking at me with pure terror in his eyes, like I am a crazy woman for telling him to stop running from the dog. The kid gets to his house and books it inside without a glance back at either of us. I then stomp over to my 70lb dog and pick him up over my shoulder and march him home. I'm sure I looked like quite the sight.
There's also the time he chewed holes in my brand new carpet.....twice. Or when he ripped open all the presents that I had just wrapped and placed under the christmas tree. Or when he ate a AAA battery whole while I was in the shower, and I chased him down butt naked with the hydrogen peroxide to make him throw it up. That was a fun vet visit "Ooooh you're the girl that called about your dog eating the battery? Yeah come right over here with me."
We sure love our T-rex, but aren't our puppies such handfuls? I know I know just wait until we have a kid.

Today was one of those days where I slept until 11 and didn't even care. I'll take all the lazy free time I can get. I caught up on all of my trash tv, and didn't get dressed until 3. That is what happiness looks like people. My little sister Courtney must have sensed my laziness, and dragged me out of my bed to do some shopping. Sister dates with this girl are always a blast. Her boyfriend is in Fiji for 2 and a half weeks, so apparently I'm her next best thing (and she usually cons me into buying stuff for her.) Starbucks and rummaging through Forever 21 were the plans. Am I the only one who rummages? It seriously takes me hours to find anything in that store. Courtney had no issues apparently and kept piling clothes into my basket. I couldn't refuse any of them. It's times like these that I'm so grateful for my sisters and my family, and that they all live so close to me. If it means dropping some serious money on all the cute clothes she conned me into buying (so she can borrow them and never give them back).....then so be it.
^^ My beautiful sister ^^

^^ Some people say we could be twins........actually everyone asks us if we are.^^

^^ Who knew Starbucks was the place for rockin' soups and sandwiches? Seriously that tomato soup was to die for.^^

^^ Can't forget the caramel fraps ^^

^^ Somebody seriously had this pile of books at their table^^

^^ The loot ^^

This weekend was a crazy one for me. 45 clinical hours that have to be done on my own time is starting to wear me down. I met up with my nurse preceptor for a long 6pm-6am shift on Thursday night. Slept all day Friday and decided that I needed out of my bed and out of my house. I enlisted Jordan and his two sisters Amber and Lex out for fun hike to dog lake up Milcreek canyon. Once piece of advice when hiking to dog lake? Don't start the 6 mile round trip hike at 8:00pm. Other pice of advice? Don't wear TOMS as hiking shoes. Although it was a fun adventure, we didn't actually make it up to dog lake before dark. Hiking down in the pitch black of night with the threat of mountain lions and bear attacks going through your mind isn't all it's cracked up to be. We did have fun singing "I'm gonna be (500 miles)" by the Proclaimers to Lex on the way up. I would walk 500 miles and I would walk 500 more...da da da da dum dum dum dum dum dum da da da da. She kept asking us what movie the song was from...Oh Lex.

^^ T-Rex ready to rock and roll with his constant companion his ball^^

^^Seriously can't get enough of my home tee. I'd stay in it every day all day and is basically my weekend go-to. Also, a portion of the profits go to MS research. Win-win. Get yours at thehometee.com ^^

^^ I love where I live ^^

^^searching for dog lake at dusk is always an adventure ^^

Next up on the list? McDonalds run. I don't claim to be a health nut. I basically run as much as I do to just keep off the pounds from all the junk food we eat. McDonalds being one of them. I don't know about you, but sometimes I just need to bite into a big juicy Big Mac. For the hubs? The new bacon habanero ranch quarter pounder with extra sauce. Judge us all you like, but it's just something in the fries that keeps us going back for more. And as always a large Dr. Pepper to share. Everything in moderation right? Rex even came along for the ride this time. He hopes to sneak a few fries when we aren't looking. (Who am I kidding? We feed him the fries.) I live for these weekends with the hubs without the responsibilities of school and work. It seems they are more and more rare these days.

^^Who's that handsome devil?^^

^^ A little T-rex action ^^

^^ Avid McDonalds supporters. ^^

Welcome to our new blog. The last one I had needed a make over, so this is our new home. I'm hoping that this lifestyle blog will be somewhere to document our adventures, mishaps, and everything in between. First off, meet us.

^^ Brynn^^
I'm the writer behind the blog. I am a ful time nursing student with hopes that i'll see the light at the end of the tunnel soon (May 2014 to be exact). I hate school right now, but i'm sure when I leave i'll miss all the learning. I love learning. I love ice cream. Doesn't matter what kind, i'll eat it. I claim to be a runner, and once I finish my 2 half marathons this summer I can feel comfortable calling myself that. See that boy down there? I love him. He's my parter in crime and my best friend. He's also the funniest guy you'll ever meet. Yep, that's my husband. I'm wild and compulsive, and usually come up with all the crazy situations we get into. I call Utah home right now, but I hope to call other places home later in life.

^^ Jordan^^
This is Jordan. He's the brains behind the themes and layouts on this blog. He's a computer genius. This boy LOVES Dr. Pepper. He also loves to take 2-3 baths a day. He's adorable. Right now he's working full time, and being a kick-a student. He's handsome and can make your ears bleed with his heavy metal hard core music taste. He's witty and a great dresser. He's the voice of reason when it comes to our crazy antics and constantly tries to keep Brynn's feet planted on the ground. He also calls Utah home, but hopes we never leave.

Kick back and stay awhile. You won't be disappointed.
